Chipotle Balsamic Burger Sauce

Burgers don’t always need sauce, but they sure are better with it! This Chipotle Balsamic Burger Sauce has a little bit of zip from the chipotle peppers and some tang from the alsamic vinegar. It is a twist on my Balsamic Steak Sauce.

The Lineup

Chipotle Balsamic Burger Sauce is a combination of a few of my favorite things. Diced Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce is downright amazing. I really like the jar as compared to the can, they are already diced and you can use what you need and put the lid on. Easy.

Mince your onions pretty small. They will cook down and become part of the chipotle balsamic burger sauce.

Let the onions cook fairly slow, medium heat is fine. They should be a golden brown when you are ready to move to the next step.

Add in all of the other ingredients except the xantham gum powder. Mix well.

Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes. This will allow it to cook down some and incorporate all of the flavors.

Bob’s Red Mill Xanthan Gum Powder

Xanthan Gum eeeeeeeeek! Nah its really not one of those scary ingredients, it is a unique one though. It is used to to thicken the Chipotle Balsamic Burger Sauce. Unlike cornstarch you can add xanthan gum into a hot liquid. You can find it in either the baking section of most grocery stores or possibly in the gluten free space. As always Amazon carries lots of xanthan gum options.

I mixed the Xanthan gum in 1/8 tsp at a time and see how the consistency looks. Too much and your gonna have jelly. Yummy jelly but jelly none the less.

The Chipotle Balsamic Burger Sauce is dark, and tangy and yummy and just a little bit spicy. Feel free to add more chipotle if your looking for more zip! Slather it on your burger and enjoy!
