There are some recipes that just scream fall, apple crisp is definitely one of them. Its a simple dish to pull together and can be a side or a dessert.
The photos show more than the recipe makes, this was for a party so I doubled it.
All the work is in the apples. Everything else takes maybe 5 minutes. Chop or slice them, either way will work. Peel them or don’t. If your apples are from a grocery store they are most likely waxed so I would peel them. If you are able to get them unwaxed the save some time and leave them on if you want a more rustic apple crisp.
Apples are all ready and the topping is mixed.
Spread the topping evenly and press it down into the apples. Its kinda like making the crust but it’s on the top of your apple crisp rather than the bottom.
About 45 minutes in the oven and your apple crisp should be bubbly and golden on the top!
Its great as a side dish as it is or live it up and put some ice cream or whipped cream on top and its dessert! Hope you enjoy this easy old school apple crisp!
