Dumpling Soup

This is a quick dumpling soup that can be ready to serve in about 15 minutes.

As long as you have a few pantry staples and some frozen dumplings your good to go!

Thin slices of onion either half moon or quarter depending on how you like your soup goodies. I did big long peels of carrot.

Saute the veggies and garlic in sesame oil for about 5 minutes. You still want them to have a little bite and not be mush in the dumpling soup.

Add in everything else except the dumplings and bring it to a boil. I used boxed beef stock in this recipe. You can certainly used homemade or my go to of Better than Bouillon.

Time for the dumplings to join the part! Give them a gentle stir to make sure they are not sticking on the bottom and let them simmer for about 5 minutes.

Serve immediately or cover the pot and remove from the heat.

Top with some fresh chives, toasted sesame seeds or any chili paste or seasoning that you have been dying to add up to this point. Enjoy!

Yes you could defiantly add some spice while it was cooking. I kept it kid friendly this time and didn’t. Either fresh peppers, powdered or chili paste would all do nicely here and each produce a different soup. Next time around…..
